The American Kidney Fund (AKF), is a non-profit health organization providing limited grants to needy dialysis patients, transplant recipients and kidney donors to help cover treatment-specific expenses such as medications, transportation, etc. The Fund also educates the public about the prevention, causes and treatment of kidney disease. In addition, the Fund offers accredited professional and patient education conferences and provides grants for clinical research.
Publications
The American Kidney Fund publishes a broad selection of pamphlets on kidney disease with topics ranging from diet to transplantation, including several editions in Spanish.
