The Stanford Prevention Research Center was established at Stanford University in 1986. Funded by the Henry J. Kaiser Family Foundation, the SPRC is designed to meet organizational and community needs relating to the understanding and practice of health promotion.
Publications
The Stanford Prevention Research Center produces and distributes health promotion materials, including videos, training manuals, booklets, self-help kits and program guides, some of which are available in Spanish. A catalog of materials can be found on the web at http://hprc.stanford.edu. Publicationsn cover the following range of topics: health promotion process, general heart health, stress management, aging, blood pressure, weight control, nutrition, smoking, alcohol and other drugs, exercise, youth, adolescent pregnancy, injury prevention in the workplace, mental health.
