How is income calculated for the $600 transitional assistance eligibility? Is SSDI also included as income?
  Question
How is income calculated for the $600 transitional assistance eligibility? Is SSDI also included as income?
  Answer
For purposes of the Medicare Prescription Drug Discount Card, when you count your "income, " count all money received through retirement benefits from Social Security, the Railroad, the Federal Government, or other sources, and also count cash benefits you may receive for a disability or as a veteran. Also count any other income you would report to the IRS in determining your "Adjusted Gross Income" on your tax return.

Yes, SSDI is a monthly Social Security benefit covered in section 223 under Title II of the Social Security Act, and is therefore counted as income for purposes of the Medicare Approved Drug Discount Card.
