NOTICE:

This is an automatic process and every message submission will be disseminated world-wide as determined by the routing established for the WMO abbreviated heading you used. The submitting NMC is responsible for content.




GUIDANCE ON FILLING OUT THE FORM

The WMO Bulletin
(See WMO Message Structure for Full Details)

  1. The webpage information submitted on this input form is the WMO bulletin
  2. The content of the WMO bulletin is:
  3. The bulletin is submitted to the RTH by pressing "the [ TRANSMIT ] button" on the webpage.
  4. The transmitted input file is automatically built into a WMO message.

Webpage Submission Rules and Definitions

  1. There will be no "WMO starting line" field required in the webpage process.
  2. The WMO abbreviated heading line and text are the only required fields for this bulletin input form.
  3. The four input fields shall meet WMO message standard rules in content.
  4. The WMO abbreviated heading is entered in capital letters
  5. The format of the WMO Abbreviated Heading Line is: T1T2A1A2ii   CCCC   [NNNXXX] YYGGgg   (BBB)
  6. The data time fields in the abbreviated heading must be current and meet the WMO standards of the Manual 386 Part II
  7. The Pxx option of the BBB optional group is not allowed
  8. The CCCC is the location identifier of origin of the "TEXT" being entered
  9. The abbreviated heading T1T2A1A2ii CCCC must be previously defined at the RTH and will be validated against the NWS Switching Directory.
  10. If an additional NNNXXX AWIPS Identifier(AI) line is provided, it must have a leading comma.
  11. There shall be only one WMO bulletin per webpage entry.
  12. The "TEXT" field can only contain one meteorological code form, which is defined by the abbreviated heading.
  13. The computer keyboard "Enter key" generates the [cr] [cr] [lf] format controls.
  14. No ASCII character control notations are required except for the report separator [ = ] signal.
  15. The "WMO end-of-message" field is not allowed in the webpage entry field process.

An Example of the Input Fields

The abbreviated heading field - This input window will be a fill-in-the-blank area for a single WMO abbreviated heading.

  1. SMMF01 TFFR

The data-time field - This input window will be a fill-in-the-blank area for a single data-time as defined in WMO Manual 386, Part II.

  1. 01000

Option BBB group - This is an optional entry input window for the BBB group. It may be left blank.

  1. RRA

The text field - A larger window to enter the TEXT of the bulletin starting with the standard code identification line [section 0 of the report code, see WMO Manual 306]

The 'Submit Bulletin' Button

After you submit this input, a "Confirmation" screen will appear with the input displayed for review, before the final "TRANSMIT" button is available to press. You may return with the browser "back" button to correct any errors on initial input. After the pressing of the "TRANSMIT" button, the recieved WMO bulletin will be automatically handled by the RTH.

The abbreviated heading field- This input window will be a fill-in-the-blank area for a single WMO abbreviated heading. An additional "NNNXXX" alternate heading can be entered. If the NNNXXX is entered it must have a leading comma.

The data-time field-This input window will be a fill-in-the-blank area for a single data-time as defined in WMO Manual 386, Part II.
