Abstract

This not-for-profit association was formed with a mission to help educate nurses working in newly developed intensive care units. AACN's vision is actualized by the following organizations: AACN, The Member Organization; The AACN Certification Corporation; and The InnoVision Group. As the Member Organization, AACN is committed to providing the highest quality resources to maximize nurses' contribution to care for critically ill patients and their families. Premier initiatives for the Association include the annual National Teaching Institute and Critical Care Exposition, and the Thunder Project II multi-site research project.

AACN Clinical Issues: Advanced Practice in Acute and Critical Care--quarterly, peer reviewed series of informative volumes is designed for advanced practice nurses, case managers, academic and clinical eductors, and expert clinicians at the bedside; American Journal of Critical Care--bimonthly journal; Critical Care Critical Care Nurse--bimonthly journal covers cutting edge critical care trends and practices; AACN News--monthly newsletter keeps members up-to-date on what's happening in critical care, healthcare, the association, chapters, and certification issues.
