Abstract

The mission of this association is to maximize the survival and quality of life of all people affected by HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses through the development and implementation of global strategies for: increased access to drugs and related technologies for all people living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses; faster development, approval, distribution, and utilization of effective vaccines against HIV and other life-threatening illnesses; education of physicians, other healthcare professionals, and their patients about the most effective available treatments for HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses; promotion of ethical concerns in design of clinical trials and access to healthcare; and protection of the human rights of all people at risk for and living with HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening illnesses.
