This position sensitive neutron detector is the most advanced ever designed and fabricated by Brookhaven's Instrumentation Division, and covers a scattering angle of 120° with a radius of curvature of 70cm. Here, the detector is shown after recent installation on the new protein crystallography station at Los Alamos Neutron Science Center. The success of the first user run is reflected in a November

The Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory conducts research
in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as
in energy technologies. Brookhaven also builds and operates major facilities
available to university, industrial, and government scientists. The
Laboratory is managed by Brookhaven Science Associates, a limited liability
company founded by Stony Brook University and Battelle, a nonprofit
