Sandia is engaged in a variety of materials-related biotechnology efforts, including the development of cell immobilization materials, lipid bilayer/ion channel supports, mesoporous materials as synthetic ion channels, and controlled porosity materials for selective protein trapping. Other efforts include the development of spectral analysis methods for extracting information from high throughput experiments such as DNA or protein microarrays.
