Since this question only lists the response categories in which NSF was interested, there was
heavy use of the "other-specify" response category (88 percent for the NSCG; 37 percent for
the SDR; 35 percent for the NSRCG ). Item nonresponse for D14 was 2.7 percent for the NSCG
and less than 1.0 for the SDR and NSRCG. Item nonresponse was low for the SDR and NSRCG, at
less than one percent and two percent, respectively, but higher initially for the unedited
NSCG mail data.
