Kids' Inpatient Database (KID)

Kids' Inpatient Database (KID) is the only all-payer pediatric inpatient care database in the United States, containing data from approximately two million hospital stays. Its large sample size is ideal for developing national and regional estimates and enables analyses of rare conditions, such as congenital anomalies, as well as uncommon treatments, such as organ transplantation. The following links provide detailed documentation for the KID.

Some documents are provided in Adobe® Acrobat® (PDF) format. The amount of time needed to access a document depends on your machine, browser, and Internet connection. PDF files require the Adobe® Acrobat® Reader™, which can be downloaded free of charge from Adobe®. PDF Help provides instructions on how to work with PDF files.
