Eligibility criteria
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be a resident of the State of Delaware, you must need financial assistance for home energy costs and your household's annual income before taxes must not exceed $18,620 if one person lives in the household; $24,980 if two people live in the household; $31,340 if three people live in the household; $37,700 if four people live in the household; $44,060 if five people live in the household; $50,420 if six people live in the household, or $56,780 if seven people live in the household. For larger households, add $3,180 for each additional person in the home.
Description
The Delaware Energy Assistance Program (DEAP) is a federally funded program for low-income families that need help in meeting their costs of home energy. The Division of State Service Centers (DSSC) administers this program on a contractual basis with Catholic Charities, Inc. The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), under the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), provides funds. DEAP services provide assistance to income eligible families to help them meet their home energy needs.
