PROGRAMME:

US / UK Collaboration US / UK Symposium May 10-12, 2000

Aims

The Symposium aims;

  • To update Symposium participants on the emerging agenda for minority ethnic health in the US and the UK

  • To disseminate learning from the work of the US / UK core groups working on 'Access to Health' and 'Developing the Community Voice'

  • To offer opportunities for UK and US delegates to explore key current development themes for minority ethnic health in the UK

  • To review progress on the Collobaration to date and consider the joint programme of work for the future.

Participants

The Symposium is aimed at;

  • Steering Group and Core Group members of the Collaboration
  • Health policy makers
  • Senior managers and health professionals
  • Voluntary sector and not-for-profit organisations
  • Others with an interest in minority ethnic health development.

Symposium Format

The Symposium will take place over two days and will include plenary and themed workshop sessions. Facilitated workshops will be led jointly by US and UK speakers. Feedback from workshops will used to establish the agenda for the next phase of the collaboration. The proceedings will be widely disseminated in the US and the UK.
