The EDOCS search function allows the user to input criteria and search for all published documents based on the matching criteria entered.

Before starting your search, you should select a report type, which will determine the format the data retrieved is displayed. The “Condensed format” is the default report format. You can change format without having to repeat the search. You can enter criteria into any open field located on the screen. The more criteria entered will result in faster and smaller result sets.

Some fields in the EDOCS query do wildcards searches automatically. These fields are FCC Number, DA Number, Title Contains, Description Contains, File Number, and Report Number. For Docket Number searches, to do a wildcard search, a "%" character should be used.

The report types and the information categories are listed below. Refer to the definitions to determine which format will be most useful to you.

Step 1: Click the on a triangle to the left of the Report type that you wish to select. The default report type is the Condensed Report.

Step 2: Enter Search Criteria. Sample search criteria:

Document Type:	PN (Public Notice)
Bureau:	Wireless Telecommunications Bureau
Released Date:	01/01/2000 (From) 01/30/2000(To)
OR
Bureau:	Common Carrier Bureau
Title Contains:	Consolidated Data Collection (key words of a title)

Step 3: Click the button.

• The system will retrieve all documents matching the entered criteria. The documents will be displayed in the report format selected prior to selecting the query button. You can select a different report format after the results are displayed without reentering search criteria. You can move through the retrieved documents by clicking the NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons. You can also use the jump button to jump to a specific numbered document in the query result.

• Use the CLEAR button to reset the search and enter new criteria.
