Funding Opportunities

The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) provides numerous opportunities for child health researchers to apply for funds. These include:

Health Services Research—Program Announcement
Child health is one of the areas identified as a special focus for research.

Small Project Grant Program
AHRQ particularly encourages projects on health issues that affect children, including: clinical conditions prevalent among or unique to children, the impact of particular market changes or delivery and financing arrangements on children, and the unique health care needs of children and other vulnerable populations.

Small Grant Program for Conference Support
Supports conferences on child health (as well as other) topics.

AHRQ has issued Request for Proposals (RFAs) on specific child health topics. While there are no currently active child health research solicitations, below are listed some illustrations of recent child health RFAs. The Agency welcomes investigator-initiated applications on similar topics under its Program Announcements.
