Eligibility criteria
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must currently be enrolled in an accredited undergraduate degree program, and be planning on attending graduate school to further a career in public service.

Description
The Truman Scholarship is a highly competitive, merit-based award offered to U.S. citizens and U.S. nationals from Pacific Islands who wish to go to graduate school in preparation for a career in government, the non-profit sector or elsewhere in public service. Truman Scholars participate in leadership development programs and have special opportunities for internships and employment with the federal government.

Program contact information & web resources
Students cannot apply directly for Truman Scholarships but must be nominated by a Truman Scholarship Faculty Representative from their college or university. Each institution may nominate four students. In addition, four-year colleges and universities may nominate three transfer students from two-year colleges. You can identify your school's Faculty Representative through the "Faculty Representative Locator" tool on the Truman Foundation website:
