Clinical Electives Program Descriptions

Clinical Electives Travel & Housing Subsidy
A subsidy of $300 is offered by the Graduate Medical Education (GME) programs to participants in the clinical electives offered on our campus in Bethesda, Maryland which are linked to an NIH/ACGME-accredited residency or subspecialty training program*. The $300 subsidy covers (a) travel costs equal to or greater than $300; or (b) rent charges equal to or greater than $300, for temporary housing in the Washington, DC area. Students with permanent residences in the DC area are not eligible for the rent subsidy. To be eligible for funds, students accepted in the qualified clinical electives must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents and enrolled in a U.S.-accredited school of medicine or osteopathy. Payment will be made following arrival at the NIH. Receipts must be presented in order for a participant to receive the subsidy.
