You told us what you wanted, and we listened. FirstGov.gov has answered the call for an even better website with a new, exciting look. Our goal is to continue to provide even higher standards of service to you, our customers, and to listen to your feedback. You will still find all the same useful content as in the previous version of FirstGov.gov. But what you'll notice is a cleaner design and layout and substantial improvements to help you find your way around. Here's what you'll find: - Citizens Gateway is the Home Page – With the majority of FirstGov visitors using the Citizen Gateway, we've made it the default Home Page, saving our visitors time to find what they want.
- New "gateway tabs" – Gateway tabs are used to highlight resources for our four main audiences: citizens, businesses and nonprofits, federal government employees, and other governments.
- Get it Done Online! – Enhanced access to online services will help save you time. Get it done online, rather than wait in line.
- We Answer Your Questions – E-mail us with any question about government and you'll get a response within two business days.
- Information "By Topic" – Topics are now prominently featured on each gateway since visitors have told us that finding by topic (such as "health" or "education") is the most common way they look for information.
- "News and Features" and "In Focus" – These boxes have been added to many pages to better inform you of current events.
- Search box – The FirstGov Search has been simplified to make it easier for you to search the entire federal government or an individual state.
- Cleaner Layout on All Pages – The cleaner layout will make it easier to scan for links and move from page to page.
