Hammond-Deckard at 202-514-6015 In Fiscal Year 2005, the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is offering G.R.E.A.T. Officer Training (GOT) for full-time, certified/sworn, uniformed police officers with a minimum of 2 years of experience. In addition, G.R.E.A.T. Families Training (GFT) will be offered later in the fiscal year. ONLY G.R.E.A.T. certified officers are eligible to attend GFT training classes. If you are G.R.E.A.T. certified, but have not taught in the classroom during the past three school years, we recommend that you attend a regular 40-hour G.R.E.A.T. Officer Training (GOT) class. Please note that GFT is only a 2-day training class. Your agency is responsible for the cost of meals and transportation to and from the training site for either type of training. Contact your Regional Training Administrator for more information on these training sites.
