2002 National Assessment of Adult Literacy (NAAL). A national survey of the literacy abilities of adults to be completed in 2002. The NAAL will inform policymakers and educators about the factors believed to play critical roles in the development of adult literacy abilities. Knowledge about the roles, relationships, and impacts of such factors will help improve educational practices and programs.
