How to arrange tours of the United States Mint at Denver
Please note: tours are conducted Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm. Specific tour times cannot be requested.
Tours for citizens
Tours for individuals/families and small groups of 15 or less must be arranged through Congressional sponsorship. Addresses and telephone number for members of Congress can be found at http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm or http://www.house.gov/MemStateSearch.html . Three weeks advance notice is required for scheduling and security clearances. For spring and summer tour requests, six weeks advance notice is recommended. Visitors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.
You will need to provide the legal name, date-of-birth and Social Security number for all people requesting a tour. A response to your request from the Congressional office should be expected within 7 business days from the date of your request.
Scheduling of Organized Group Tours:
Tours for students, youth groups, scouts, seniors, military, veteran and other organized groups may be arranged directly through the Public Affairs Office at the United States Mint at Denver at (303) 405-4759. Three weeks advance notice is required for scheduling and security clearances. For spring and summer tour requests, eight weeks, or more advance notice is recommended. Visitors under the age of 15 must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitor Information and Sales Center

Instructions for Touring the United States Mint at Denver
Thank you for your interest in touring the United States Mint. Please review carefully the following instructions for your visit.
  1. All visitors must arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled tour time. Late arrivals may not be accommodated.
  2. All visitors 18 years of age, or older will be required to present photo identification, such as driver’s license or passport.
  3. Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, the following:
    • Handbags
    • Book bags,
    • Backpacks,
    • Purses,
    • Fanny packs,
    • Diaper bags,
    • Strollers,
    • Food or beverages of any kind
    • Cameras,
    • Video recorders or any type of recording device,
    • Tobacco products
    • Personal grooming items (make up, hair brush or comb, lip or hand lotions, etc.),
    • Umbrellas,
    • Any pointed objects (pens, knitting needles, etc.),
    • Aerosol containers,
    • Guns,
    • Ammunition,
    • Fireworks,
    • Electric stun guns,
    • Mace,
    • Martial arts weapons/devices,
    • Knives of any size.
You may bring a ‘palm’ sized wallet/change purse (the size of a man’s folded wallet) to hold money, i.d., credit cards etc. No checkbook organizers/day timers or larger wallets – nothing (any size) that has a shoulder strap.
The United States Mint Police reserves the right to prohibit any other personal items. The United States Mint will not provide coat or package check facilities.
All persons and items entering the United States Mint will be screened through a security process. Individuals may be requested to consent to an interview or additional security procedures before they are admitted to the United States Mint facility.

Directions: The United States Mint at Denver is at 320 West Colfax Avenue. Going either north or south on I-25, take the Colfax Avenue exit and go east on West Colfax, away from the mountains, you should see the gold dome of the state capitol to the east. The mint is 1.5 miles east on the right hand side between Delaware and Cherokee Streets. All visitors enter on Cherokee Street, on the east side of the building. The Mint does not provide parking. Public lots and meters are available in the area.
