Eligibility criteria
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must have been in military service after September 7, 1980, and you must qualify with one of the following: 1) have a service connected and compensable dental disability, 2) have a non-compensable condition or disability resulting from combat wounds or service trauma, 3) have been a prisoner of war held for more than 90 days, or 4) you, your spouse, parents or children must currently receive or be eligible to receive vocational rehabilitation training.
Description
Outpatient dental treatment provided by VA includes examinations and the full spectrum of diagnostic, surgical, restorative and preventative procedures. However, dental eligibility is limited to certain veterans authorized by law. Some veterans receiving dental care may be billed the applicable co-payment if their income exceeds the maximum threshold.
