Eligibility criteria
In order to qualify for this benefit program, your child must have a birth defect related to your military service in Vietnam, or you must be the spouse or surviving dependent of a veteran and have a birth defect related to your mother's military service in Vietnam.

Description
The CWVV Healthcare Programs are administered by Veterans Affairs for children with certain birth defects born to women who are eligible Vietnam veterans. The CWVV provides reimbursement for conditions associated with certain birth defects. Coverage for this program is based on eligibility determinations made by the VA Regional Office. Applications must be submitted and adjudicated by the VA Regional Office before health care benefits will be covered. Once the VA Regional Office has adjudicated and accepted the claim for a covered birth defect, the information will be provided to the Health Administration Center. No application from the beneficiary is required.
