Lou Costello was born on March 6, 1908, and was christened Louis Francis Cristello. He quit high school to work in a haberdashery, but soon quit and became an actor. He met Bud Abbott in 1929, at the Empire Theater in Brooklyn, NY. Lou Costello's straight man was ill and Bud Abbott agreed to substitute for him. They became a team and were together the rest of their careers. They appeared on Television, In Movies and on Stage. Lou Costello died at the age of 51 on March 3, 1959.
