Eligibility criteria
In order to qualify for this benefit program, you must be (a) a health care professional whose highest level/grade of education is doctoral, and you must be qualified/certified/licensed in psychiatry, family medicine or internal medicine, or (b) a current or prospective student pursuing a research fellowship or a doctoral degree.
Description
National Research Service Award grants for Medicine and Dentistry are made to primary care departments of accredited schools of medicine or teaching hospitals. The institutions, in turn, offer post-graduate fellowships that train individuals for academic medicine and research. The fellowships are concentrated, targeted educational programs. Fellows gain experience in applied research while expanding their overall knowledge of primary medical care research methodology and exploring areas where further research is needed.
