Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Am I eligible?

Eligibility criteria
VITA volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation to individuals with income of $35,000 and below for tax year 2004. The volunteers prepare Forms 1040A, 1040EZ, and 1040 with Schedules A and B, EIC, and other simple forms.

Description
The VITA program offers free tax help to people who cannot afford professional assistance. In addition to free tax return preparation assistance, many sites also offer free electronic filing (e-filing). Volunteers help prepare basic tax returns for taxpayers with low-to-moderate incomes. Assistance is provided at community and neighborhood centers, libraries, schools, shopping malls, and other convenient locations.
