Enforcement Policy
NRC's "General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement
Actions," (Enforcement
Policy )
explains the NRC's policies and procedures in initiating enforcement actions
and the responsibilities of the presiding officers and the Commission
in reviewing these actions.
This policy statement is applicable to enforcement matters involving
the radiological health and safety of the public, including employees'
health and safety, the common defense and security, and the environment.
The last complete revision that was issued as a NUREG series publication
(NUREG-1600) was dated May 1, 2000. Changes to this policy are published
in the Federal Register.
The version available here includes seven modifications published in
the
Federal Register since NUREG-1600 was last issued. The latest
revision does not become effective until November 30, 2004. You may view
