RESEARCH STRATEGIES, STUDY DESIGNS AND STATISTICAL APPROACHES TO BIOMARKERS VALIDATION FOR CANCER DIAGNOSIS AND DETECTION

A block of sleeping rooms for conference participants has been reserved for the National Cancer Institute Workshop entitled Research Strategies, Study Designs and Statistical Approaches to Biomarkers Validation for Cancer Diagnosis and Detection at the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center. The rate is $150 per night for single or double occupancy, plus tax. To receive this reduced rate, indicate that you request a room for the "Research Strategies, Study Designs and Statistical Approaches to Biomarkers Validation for Cancer Diagnosis and Detection Workshop" when making your reservations. Reservations must be made by Monday, July 13, 2004, and must be guaranteed with a major credit card. Please be certain that the hotel provides you with a confirmation number for your reservation. Approximate shuttle fares for Maryland Airport Shuttle from Dulles and Reagan National are $25, and from Baltimore-Washington International Airport, the fare is $36 for one passenger, one-way. Fares for Yellow Airport Shuttle from Dulles and Reagan National are $55, and from Baltimore-Washington International Airport, the fare is $65 for one passenger, one-way. Taxi Service Taxicab fares to the hotel from Dulles Airport and National Airport should cost approximately $60 one-way for one passenger. The fare from Baltimore-Washington International Airport costs approximately $70 one-way. It is wise to check on the fares before selecting a taxicab. From Ronald Reagan National Airport Take the George Washington Parkway (Route 110 North) to I-495 (Capital Beltway) North toward Maryland. Travel through 2 traffic circles and the hotel is on the left. Using the Metro System The Metro System is clean and reliable. It operates from 5:30 a.m. to 12:00 midnight Monday through Thursday; 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Fridays; 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. on Saturdays; and 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 midnight on Sundays. Each passenger must buy a farecard to travel in the system. Guides for purchasing farecards are posted on the vending machines in each station. Each Metro car features a complete color-coded map. Station attendants on duty at each station can provide additional information on request.
