Transformation Plan Progress Report
Transformation is well under way. Working within our current legislative framework, we improved operational efficiency, removed billions of dollars of costs from our system, and enhanced our performance-based culture.

But we’re not done.

We boosted service and customer satisfaction scores to their highest levels ever while reducing our employee complement by 45,000 through attrition. We used technology to enhance the value of the mail through innovative products such as Confirm® and Click-N-Ship®. We expanded access to USPS® products and services through alternate locations and channels, including 60,000 supermarkets, drug stores and ATMs.

But we’re still not done.

The Transformation Plan, introduced in 2002, is a blueprint for the future of the Postal Service™. It’s a work in progress. We’ve accomplished a lot in the past few years, but there’s more to be done.
