Welcome to the
Acute Inpatient Web Page

Welcome to the CMS web page for Acute Inpatient. The Acute Inpatient web page has been re-designed to incorporate all Acute Inpatient specific information in one place. We will continue to add information to this page as it becomes available, and hope to improve both functionality and formatting to make the page more user-friendly.

Acute Inpatient Highlights

The corrected tables, addendum language and revised impact analysis will be included in a forthcoming correction notice to be published in the Federal Register.)
  • Due to technical errors in the wage index tables published August 11, 2004 in the Federal Register (Vol. 69 FR 48916) entitled "Medicare Program; Changes to the Hospital Inpatient Prospective Payment Systems and Fiscal Year 2005 Rates" (CMS-1428-F), the FY 2005 payment rates and wage index tables have been revised as of October 5, 2004. These revised tables contain the final revisions to the wage index, geographic reclassifications and redesignations, and payment rates that CMS intends to base hospital inpatient PPS payments upon for discharges occurring on or after October 1, 2004.
