KIDS COUNT Network

The KIDS COUNT Network is comprised of state-based KIDS COUNT projects in 50 states, the District of Columbia, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Network members share the common goal of using data to advance change on behalf of kids and families. The Annie E. Casey Foundation came to believe that the KIDS COUNT initiative could do even more on behalf of children and families by promoting stronger connections among the state KIDS COUNT projects, between the state projects and the Foundation, and between the state projects and the outside world. The KIDS COUNT Network is guided by a Steering Committee comprised of representatives from the Network and is staffed by a KIDS COUNT Network Coordinator.

Network members share information and collaborate on efforts of common interest. They network with one another through a list serv, various interest-based working groups, conference calls, and at the annual meeting and technical assistance workshops.

You may search the contents of the KIDS COUNT Network website by Keyword, or by State, Topic and/or Document Type.

At the national level, the principal activity of the initiative is the publication of the annual KIDS COUNT Data Book, which uses the best available data to measure the educational, social, economic, and physical well-being of children. The Foundation also funds a nationwide network of state-level KIDS COUNT projects that provide detailed data on child well-being in their state. You can learn more about these projects and their publications on the National KIDS COUNT Network Website.
