This is SSA's web site for school officials who certify the full-time attendance of students who receive Title II Social Security benefits. Its purpose is to provide information about Title II student benefits to school officials and students.

Information being shared by Social Security and School Officials Regarding Title II Students

  • SSA pays benefits to over 200,000 students each year;

  • The average student receives benefits for an average of 7 1/2 months;

  • More students receive benefits in May than in any
    other month; and

  • Fewer students receive benefits in July than in any
    other month.
