AAPI Commission Releases Report to the President

The President's Advisory Commission on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders identified the protection of civil rights and equal opportunities for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders as key priorities, in an interim report to the President released on January 17. The report, A People Looking Forward, is the first of two reports to be submitted to the President and is based on information collected from a series of town hall meetings and informal briefings held throughout the country with prominent community and business leaders. The report includes several formal recommendations and an analysis and summary of information gathered by the commission since its appointment by President Clinton last May. The commission is inviting written, faxed, or e-mailed comments on the report.
