Georgia O'Keeffe, a well known artist, was the victim of a scheme to defraud. A grand-nephew had printed some good lithographs and was selling them to the public as originals. Artist O'Keeffe stated she had never worked in that medium and never gave permission for anyone else to do them. A grand-nephew of O'Keeffe did the printing of the lithographs, and had forged O'Keeffe's signature to them. He had printed 6,250 lithographs at a market value of more than 18 million dollars. The grand-nephew pled guilty to one charge of Copyright Infringement, and was awaiting sentencing at the end of the file.
