Jesse Owens was born on September 12, 1913, in Danville, Alabama. He was known as a track star who won four gold metals at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. He was a member of the Urban League in Chicago, and had past employment in New York City as a youth league organizer, he worked for Ford Motor Company, owned a dry-cleaning establishment in Chicago and worked as director for a recreation program for the Illinois Youth Commission. He made a movie of his Olympic experience in1936 and 1937. He worked with Youth Leagues in several cities after that before moving to Chicago. In 1956, a Special Inquiry background investigation was conducted on Jesse Owens. In 1937, Owens had moved to Phoenix, Arizona.
