Description of duties: As a Materials Scientist or Metallurgical Engineer
this person will contribute key technical support to our Material Technology
Group, which provides materials characterization, mechanical testing,
nondestructive testing, corrosion evaluation, materials selection and
failure analysis services. Responsibilities include technical consultation
to internal and external customers, interpreting codes and specifications,
procedure development, and laboratory testing. Responsibilities will
grow to include conceiving, planning, managing and/or conducting materials
test projects.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a strong generalist
background in physical metallurgy and nondestructive evaluation with
exce4llent communications and problem solving skills. WE seek a self-motivated,
enthusiastic team player, able to occasionally work non-typical schedules
in hot, dusty, and confined spaces. Minimal domestic travel will be required.
Requirements:
1. BD degree in Materials Science or Metallurgical Engineering from an
ABET-accredited institution, advanced degree preferred.
2. ASNT NDE Level III certification in radiographic is required. Certification
or experience in other NDE methods highly desirable.
3. 5-10 years related engineering experience.
4. Theoretical knowledge and practical laboratory experience in materials
characterizat9ion and testing, including:
- Electron and optical microscopy
- X-ray microanalysis
- Metallographic specimen preparation
- Mechanical testing (tensile, hardness, impact)
5. Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
Additional highly desirable qualifications include knowledge of:
- Structure-property relationships of aerospace alloys, particularly
stainless steels
- Metallurgical failure analysis methodology
- Welding processes
- Corrosion of aerospace allows

Description of duties: Analyses the job by reviewing the program, contract,

assigned project. Determines the technical and presentation approach,

and implementation of programs, projects for field installation, operation,

Description of Duties: Responsible to the Engineering Manager, 300 Area
Projects Section, for the comprehensive oversight of assigned project(s).
Capable of managing multiple medium to large projects of various complexities.
The Project Leader (PL) is responsible for project cost, schedule, and
technical performance. The PL coordinates multiple projects and ensures
completion of all necessary activities for successful project delivery
from development of project planning (including scope, cost estimate,
and schedule), to production of design documents, to build up and test,
to project closeout. Leads and coordinates teams of professionals to
include designers, engineers, and project support specialists. Primary
point of contact on project status, scope, technical issues, cost, and
schedule. Prepares documents incorporating the technical, safety and
quality requirements of the project and coordinates the schedule. Provides
daily status and progress report updates to the NASA counterpart, analyzes
weekly cost reports and maintains project budgets, schedules, and final
performance data. Provides weekly status and monthly progress reports
to senior management. Adheres to NASA and Honeywell Safety, Quality and

Qualifications: BS Degree in Engineering plus a minimum of three years
experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must
include a minimum of two years engineering project management experience
demonstrating a familiarity with estimating, design and coordination,
to include formal and informal designs and reviews. Must demonstrate
a working knowledge of the fundamentals of NASA quality assurance and
guidelines. The ability to prepare, analyze, and manage project budgets
and schedules is mandatory (MS Project). Must be experienced in preparing

Position: Engineer Manager 1 (LABS)

Description of Duties: Responsible for technical and administrative supervision
of the WSTF Chemistry & Materials Section of the Laboratories Department.
Ensure planning for and execution of Chemistry & Materials Section
mission. Requires budget planning and maintenance, direction and approval
of technical activities, along with personnel selection and management.
Responsible for ensuring the effective use of project mangement tools
for the CMS section budget and projects. Will work closely with NASA
counterparts to maintain quality of product and timeliness of delivery.
Provides open communication with CMS section personnel and coaching and
mentoring as required. Ensures CMS operations mesh with overall Laboratories
Department objectives. Functions as Certifying Official for WSTF Training
Classifications owned by the CMS section.

Position: Mechanical Engineer 2 (LABS)

Description of duties: Provide engineering support to the Oxygen Components
and Oxygen Hazards Analysis groups. Will be responsible for; oxygen component
testing, hazards analysis, mechanical design and analysis, flow calculations,
test system design and implementation using high pressure oxygen and
cryogenic fluids. Will prepare and execute test and fabrication TPS’s.
Work includes maintaining facilities and documentation, project management,

Position: Supervisor 1 (Deputy Fire Chief) HAZMAT (PAD)

Description of duties: Works to maintain open communications and feedback
from employees.

Drive vehicle to emergency site; take command and implement ICS as appropriate;
determine proper tactics for fire suppression assuring safety of fire
personnel and civilians.

of the WSTF Propulsion Department Operations Systems Support (OSS) Maintenance
and Altitude (M&A) Group, Section 1220. Establishes operational planning
and schedules manpower, materials, and facilities to meet OSS M&A

budgets and schedules prepared by direct report staff. Provides direction
and approval of technical activities within the section, including personnel
selection for project support. Participates in Propulsion Department

Position: Pressure Systems Code Engineer (Prog. Mgt.)

Description of duties: Performs a variety of engineering work in the
design, maintenance, non-destructive evaluation (NDE) and certification
activities for pressure vessels and pressurized piping systems, including
compressors, pumps, valves, rupture discs, boilers, ejectors, hydraulic
systems and other equipment utilized in mechanical industrial processes,
including thermodynamic and fluid systems. Works closely with other engineering
disciplines in the development and application of robotics to increase
production quality, efficiency or volume. Serves as the WSTF Code Expert
with respect to Pressure Vessel and Pressurized Systems (PV/S) Code interpretation.
Informs the PV/S team members of Code changes and interpretations. Assigns
identification numbers to new WSTF PV/S, reviews PV/S designs and modifications
(participates in Design Reviews), calculations, procurements, contracts,
and NDE as requested by Design Engineers or System Engineers. Serves
as the Certifying Official. Provides for Design Engineers (Designers)
and System Engineers. Specifies the training curriculum and arranges
for the actual training of both. Provides input on the scope and recertification
frequency of PV/S (e.g., risk-based inspections). Reviews PV/S certification
appeals and makes recommendations to the PSM or Designer. Coordinates
the compilation of missing information/data for existing PV/S. Reviews
procedures, qualifications and specifications for pressure testing, welding,
brazing, and other tests and procedures. Develops and maintains liaison
with appropriate regulatory agencies. Works with PV/S owners and team
members to ensure site compliance with government regulations and industry
standards. Notifies the Design Engineers that changes in the Code(s)
have occurred. Notifies System Engineers when certification or maintenance
is required on their PV/S. Performs analysis of technical data and information
resulting from tests, studies, analyses, etc. Assists in compiling and
preparing comprehensive technical reports and proposals. Evaluates engineering
progress, developments and findings, to assure technical adequacy to
meet operational demands and conformance with established standards and
practices. Plans, programs and directs the activities of lower level
engineering personnel to assure maximum coordination of effort within
the group. Interacts with senior management and senior customer representatives;
may lead a cross-functional team. Ability to work with little direction
or supervision. Strong analysis skills and able to simplify complex processes

Qualifications: BA/BS degree in engineering or applied science with at
least 8 years of related experience, or completion of an engineering
associate degree, requiring at least two years of full-time study, plus
a minimum of 10 years of experience in the design of related pressure
piping. In lieu of formal education, 15 years of directly related work
experience. Good working knowledge of ASME Section I, VII, IV, VI, VIII,
IX, ASME B31.1, ASME B31.3, ANSI/NB-23 National Board Inspection Code,
AWS A2.4, “Standard Symbols for Welding, Brazing, and Nondestructive
Examination,” and AWS A3.0, “Standard Welding Terms and Definitions”.
Knowledge of API Codes and Standards Specifically API 510, 570, 572,
576, 579, 580 and 581; UL Standards; NFPA Codes; AWWA Standard; UFGS
Standard; CGA Standards specifically C-6 and C-8. WSTF Pressure Systems
Program knowledge is preferred, may obtain OJT.

written. Familiarity with hazardous chemical handling, a plus. Skilled
