ARLINGTON, VA, June 18, 2004—Federal Technical Data Solutions
(FedTeDS), a collaborative eBusiness application of the Defense
Information Systems Agency, was recently honored with the 2003
Grace Hopper Award and was one of five winners of the 2004 E-Gov
Excellence in Government Award.
FedTeDS is designed to safeguard sensitive acquisition-related
information for use by all federal agencies and their business
partners. The Bush administration has been using this application
since February 2003 to ensure that their online business transactions
remain secure.
This program has made a difference in Defense acquisitions because
procurement opportunities are easily accessible online. More contractors
are now willing to make online bids using the secure communications
made possible through FedTeDS.
DISA’s eBusiness has also received an E-Gov Trailblazer
Award for their central contractor registration. At a recent gathering
with representatives of the Defense Procurement and Acquisition
Policy division, DISA director Lieutenant General Harry D. Raduege,
Jr., praised DISA’s eBusiness Applications Division for
all of their fantastic achievements. Event photographs are available
upon request.
