German Navy Sailors assigned to the German Navy frigate FGS Niedersachsen (F 208), conduct fast rope exercises from a MH-60S Knighthawk during flight operations aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2).  

041013-N-6920A-001 Atlantic Ocean (Oct. 13, 2004) - German Navy Sailors assigned to the German Navy frigate FGS Niedersachsen (F 208), conduct fast rope exercises from a MH-60S Knighthawk during flight operations aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Saipan (LHA 2). Two German teams of six Sailors completed four cycles of repelling exercise's onto Saipan's flight deck before returning to their own ship. Saipan and Niedersachsen are currently completing a North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Standing Naval Force Atlantic (SNFL) deployment.
