- Furniture
accounted for over three-quarters of the growth in total U.S.
imports of miscellaneous manufactures in 2003, with China accounting
for 80 percent of the increase in furniture imports.

Mexico and Canada increased exports of motor vehicle seat parts
to their NAFTA partner in 2003 as final assembly of vehicle
seats and interior modules was more frequently performed in
the United States.
- Many
miscellaneous manufactures are produced in Asia under license
from U.S. companies; 64 percent of U.S. sector imports in 2003
were supplied by Asia.

U.S. imports of video game consoles declined as the market for
the current generation of games matured. All three producers
of video game consoles (Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft) introduced
their latest models in late 2001 and early 2002.
