65,000 Marijuana Plants Seized– 3 Arrested

AUG 30--On Monday, August 30, 2004, John M. Bott, Special Agent in Charge, Drug Enforcement Administration, Seattle Field Division, announced the seizure of one of the largest domestic marijuana grows in recent years. The seizure was part of a multi-agency marijuana eradication effort being currently conducted throughout the state of Washington.

Unprecedented Federal & State Task Force
Nets More Than 5 Dozen Arrests

JUN 1--A state and federal task force led by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Mobile Enforcement Team (MET) today announced 69 arrests, the result of an emphasis deployment in the White Center neighborhood of Seattle/ King County. For the first time, the DEA, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (ATF) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) joined with the Seattle Police and the King County Sheriff’s Office to concentrate resources in an area with growing problems of drug dealing and violence.

4 Smugglers Apprehended with One Thousand Pounds of BC Bud on Kettle River

MAY 4--Today, Friday, April 30, 2004, John M. Bott, Special Agent in Charge Seattle Field Division announced the DEA Spokane Resident Office Task Force apprehended and arrested four men while they were off-loading three boats that contained approximately 1000 pounds of BC Bud marijuana. The arrest and seizure operation was conducted along the shores of the Kettle River south of Laurier, Ferry County, Washington.

Seattle Man Pleads Guilty to
Attempted Manufacture of LSD

APR 15-- John McKay, United States Attorney for the Western District of Washington announced that today GLENN C. SLAYDEN, age 37, of Seattle, entered a guilty plea in United States District Court in Seattle to one count of Attempted Manufacture of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD). SLAYDEN faces a maximum statutory term of imprisonment of 20 years, three years of supervised release, and a $1 million fine when he is sentenced by Chief United States District Judge Coughenour in Seattle on June 25, 2004. As part of the plea agreement, SLAYDEN will also forfeit $100,000 in cash in lieu of his million-dollar Capitol Hill home, which was subject to forfeiture in its entirety as property used to facilitate the commission of the drug offense.
