Power Facts

TVA produced more than 150 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity in FY 2003 while its generating plants continued to set production records.  

TVA Police

The TVA Police are a federally commissioned, nationally accredited law enforcement agency that provides protection for TVA employees and properties, as well as the 100 million annual users of TVA recreation facilities.

Designed to give TVA the ability to adapt quickly to a fluid business environment, TVA University is internationally recognized as a model for employee training.

TVA is America's largest public power company, with 31,658 megawatts of dependable generating capacity.

 

TVA’s power facilities include 11 fossil plants, 29 hydroelectric dams, three nuclear plants, six combustion turbine plants, a pumped-storage facility, and 17,000 miles of transmission lines.

 

Through 158 locally owned distributors, TVA provides power to nearly 8.5 million residents in the Tennessee Valley.
