Tom Landry was the coach of the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League. Landry, along with three other coaches, received an extortion letter in April of 1983. The person who sent the letters advised that the four NFL coaches came to him "in the holy spirit over the radio sound waves." It was determined that the person who sent the letters was a mental patient. On December 7, 1986, a telephone call was made to the Anaheim Stadium wherein the caller stated that his brother was at the game, and he was going to kill Tom Landry. When Landry left the field, he called back and threatened John Robinson, coach of the Los Angeles Rams football team. Neither coach was harmed.
