NSA/CSS values continual learning and development for its most important resource – its People. Technology changes at the speed of light and techniques that are cutting edge today will quickly become antiquated tomorrow. Keeping the NSA/CSS workforce in peak intellectual shape and keeping their skills sharply honed are critical components to the Agency’s success.

The Associate Directorate for Education and Training (ADET) is the organization within NSA/CSS responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining learning development opportunities and solutions for the workforce. The ADET is responsible for oversight of all cryptologic and cryptologic-related training delivered within the United States Cryptologic System (USCS). There are six Cryptologic Training Schools within the USCS, one of which is the Agency’s National Cryptologic School.

NSA/CSS also understands that its long-term success is dependent upon the nurturing of future generations of U.S. cryptologists. Thus, through the ADET and the Office of Recruitment, the Agency reaches out into the community with a plethora of educational programs for students of all ages – programs aimed at developing and recruiting the best and the brightest computer/electrical engineers, computer scientists, mathematicians, linguists, cryptanalysts, and signals analysts in the world:

Even in today's state-of-the-art technological advancements, there is still much to be learned from the past. The ADET's Center for Cryptologic History (CCH) provides objective, meaningful historical support to NSA/CSS leadership and workforce to enhance decision-making, cryptologic knowledge, and esprit de corps.
