Volunteers – Start Here!

Serve your community by sharing your knowledge and expertise.

The NIH Office of Science Education (OSE) coordinates several volunteer services -- NIH Speakers Bureau and NIH Science Fair Volunteers-- through which NIH and other federal employees can share their professional knowledge and expertise with the local community.

Volunteers, by request, interact on a personal basis with area schools and organizations to provide:
  • Timely and accurate health information
  • Scientific and medical research information
  • Valuable career experience
  • School program assistance
Whether you’re a research scientist, clinician, technician, administrative or support personnel, here’s an opportunity to make a positive impact starting right here in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
