  Question

September 20, 2004

  Answer

ACF Tribal Consultation

A consultation with tribal leaders is taking place today in the Rayburn House Office Building, in advance of tomorrow’s official opening of the National Museum of the American Indian.

The consultation began with opening remarks by HHS Deputy Secretary Claude Allen.

An expo and reception is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. today. At 4:00, Native American entertainer Joanne Shenandoah will perform songs which communicate the importance of Native culture and its relationship to raising healthy children and supporting strong families.
