Statement of FTC Chairman Timothy J. Muris

The Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals issued a strong opinion upholding the constitutionality of the FTC's Do Not Call Registry. To date, consumers have registered 57.8 million phone numbers on the Registry. The court's decision recognizes the right of consumers to choose to be free of disruptive telemarketing calls. We are confident that any Supreme Court review will uphold that ruling.
