Washington, D.C. -- Lansing Technologies Corporation, represented by its president, Red-Chin Yang, today pleaded guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York to a two-count criminal information that charged the company with violating the Export Administration Regulations, Frank Deliberti, acting assistant secretary for Export Enforcement, announced today.
According to the information, during 1992, Lansing Technologies, located in Flushing, New York, exported a vector computer processor and a data acquisition control system to the Peoples Republic of China without obtaining the required export licenses from the Department of Commerce.
This case was investigated by the Department of Commerce’s Office of Export Enforcement field office in New York. The Department controls and licenses the export and re-export of dual-use commodities and technical data. The Department’s Bureau of Export Administration maintains and enforces these controls for reasons of national security, foreign policy, nonproliferation and short supply.
In April of 2002 the Bureau of Export Administration (BXA) changed its name to the Bureau of Industry and Security(BIS). For historical purposes we have not changed the references to BXA in the legacy documents found in the Archived Press and Public Information.
