37th Civil Engineering Squadron

Mission

The 37th "Black Knight" Civil Engineer Squadron set the standard in building, sustaining, and protecting resources at home and abroad. The unit maintains all real property assets on Lackland, Lackland Training Annex, Camp Bullis, and the Air Force’s premier medical training and trauma hospital, Wilford Hall Medical Center. The squadron consists of 655 personnel with an average annual budget between $35 to $40 million dollars to maintain 11.6 million square foot physical plant with a replacement value of $2.6 billion dollars encompassing 6,747 acres and 1842 facilities. The Black Knights provide all engineering, environmental protection, explosive ordnance, fire protection, military housing, operations and maintenance, utilities, disposal, and readiness in support of Lackland and it’s ever expanding mission.
