TVA’s Ron Loving To Chair Chattanooga Area Combined Federal Campaign
August 9, 2004
Ron Loving, TVA senior vice president of outage planning and execution,
is returning as the chair of the 2004 Greater Chattanooga Area Combined
Federal Campaign, which is held annually to give federal employees an
opportunity to contribute to charitable, health and human service organizations.
This year’s campaign will kick off Sept. 15, and federal agencies will
complete their campaigns in November. As chairman, Loving will oversee the
20-county Greater Chattanooga Area CFC spanning across East Tennessee and
parts of Alabama and Georgia.
The 2004 campaign theme is “Building Hope.”
“The theme symbolizes what the CFC Campaign can do for a community,”
said Loving. “As a result of the generous donations employees give year after
year, lives change, communities are transformed, and hope for a better tomorrow
continues to live.”
Loving will be assisted during the campaign by other federal agencies in
the Chattanooga area. Federal employees who will work with Loving
include Calvin Readus, U.S. Navy; Cecy Dunning, U.S. Postal Service; and
Karen Gillis, TVA. Also assisting with the campaign will be Delores Lewis, CFC
Director with United Way of Chattanooga, Dennis McCloud of TVA, chairman of
the Local Federal Coordinating Committee, and Sharon Moore of the USDA
Forest Service, vice chairperson of the LFCC.
Each of the 2002 and the 2003 Chattanooga Area Combined Federal
Campaigns raised more than $1.5 million for local and national charitable
agencies—the highest amounts ever, increasing total gifts since 1987 to more
than $21 million. Chattanooga area federal employees also have been honored
several times for having the highest average gift per person for campaigns
raising $1 million to $2 million worldwide.
Funds raised through 352 campaigns conducted nationwide support more
than 1,900 local, national and international charitable agencies.
