Vice President, Bulk Power Trading

Amy Burns was named Vice President of Bulk Power Trading in November 2000. She is responsible for TVA’s overall energy trading of bulk power in the wholesale market.

She previously served as Manager of Fuel Supply Analysis in TVA’s Fossil Power Group. In this position she was responsible for planning, analysis, and acquisition functions associated with TVA’s $1.5 billion fossil fuel program.

Burns joined TVA in 1975 as an accountant. She is a certified public accountant in the State of Tennessee, maintaining membership in the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants. In 1998, she was recognized as one of TVA’s Women of Distinction.

Burns has a B.S. degree in accounting from Samford University. She has also completed programs in executive management and leadership at the Wharton School and the Vanderbilt Owen School.
