Executive Vice President and General Counsel
Maureen Dunn assumed the position of General Counsel of the Tennessee Valley Authority on January 2, 2001. She is responsible for advising the Board of Directors on legal matters and serves as Secretary to the Corporation.
As head of the Office of the General Counsel and chief law officer of TVA, Dunn provides overall policy direction for the work carried out by OGC. She provides the final review on legal matters of major significance and conducts all legal proceedings or approves the course of action to be followed by Assistant General Counsels or staff attorneys in such proceedings.
Dunn joined TVA as an attorney in 1978 and assumed the position of Assistant General Counsel in September 1986.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from LeMoyne College in Syracuse, New York, and a law degree from Catholic University School of Law in Washington, D.C.
Dunn is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and the District of Columbia.
